TO THE
CHRISTIANS IN AMERICA
God’s heart on the innocent blood in our land

Who is responsible - who will be held accountable? In both the
old and the new testaments God has a lot to say about the
sanctity of human life - born and unborn, that He has always
considered the taking of innocent life an abomination. In the
Old Testament in MALACHI 3:6 God say’s for I am the Lord,
I change not. In the New Testament HEBREWS 13:8 says,
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
II TIMOTHY 3:16 All ure is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness. MATTHEW 5:17, Jesus said,
"Think not
that I have come to destroy the law, or the prophets, I’m come
not to destroy, but to fulfill."
THE FIRST QUESTION TO ASK IS: DO WE, AS HUMAN BEINGS, BELONG
TO OURSELVES, OR TO GOD?
GENESIS 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the
image of God created he him, male and female created he them.
PSALM 100:3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: It is he
that hath made us and not we ourselves.
ISAIAH 44:24: Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he
that formed thee from the womb, I'm the Lord that maketh all
things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth
abroad the earth by myself.
ECCLESIASTES 11:5; As thou knowest not what is the way of
the Spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is
with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh
all. DEUTERONOMY 32:39 See now that I, even I, am He, and
there is no God with me: I kill, and I make alive: I wound, and
I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
ACTS 17:25 & 28 ...He giveth to all life and breath and
...in Him we live, and move, and have our being. JOHN 1:1-3
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All
things were made by Him: And without Him was not anything made
that was made. In Him was life: and the life was the light of
men.
IN THE BIBLE WERE CHILDREN A BLESSING OR A
CURSE?
DEUTERONOMY 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this
day against you, that I have set before you life and death,
blessing & cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and
thy seed may live. PSALM 127:3; Lo, children are a
heritage of the Lord; and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
GENESIS 1:22; God blessed Adam and Eve and told them to
be fruitful and multiply.
GENESIS 9:1; And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said
unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth.
HOSEA 9:14; As punishment for Israel's sin, God gave the
women miscarrying wombs and dry breasts.
EXODUS 23:26 God promised His people when they followed
His ways that they would not have the curse of being barren.
GENESIS 30: 1-2 Rachel was barren and said give me
children or else I die. Jacob, her husband, asked what he could
do, because God withheld from her the fruit of her womb.
1
IS THIS HUMAN LIFE AND DOES GOD SEE UNBORN
CHILDREN THE SAME AS BORN CHILDREN?
Luke was a physician. In the GOSPEL OF LUKE, the Greek
word "brephos" (1) was used interchangeably for
prenatal and postnatal babies. The same word was used to
describe John the Baptist in Elizabeth's womb in LUKE 1:41 &
44, and then to describe the infants that were brought to
Jesus to be touched by him in LUKE 18:15-17 This Greek
word means, "an unborn child, embryo, fetus, and a newborn
child, an infant or babe". Other ures for brephos: LUKE
2:12 & 16, ACTS 7:19, II TIMOTHY 3:15, and
I PETER 2:2. There is no distinction in the bible for
children - born or unborn.
The bible says that God is no respecter of persons. Many of the
men of the bible, as well as Jesus Christ, either spoke of
themselves before birth or were spoken of by others. This shows
that God knows each of us in the womb, and that personhood, or
ensoulment begins in the womb. LUKE 12:7 shows us that
even the very hairs on our head are all numbered.
JEREMIAH 1:5 God says to Jeremiah:
"Before I
formed thee in the belly I knew thee: and before thou camest
forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a
prophet unto the nations."
ISAIAH 49 Isaiah said, "The Lord hath called me from
the womb: from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of
my name."
In JOB 31:15: Job spoke of himself and his manservant
saying: "Did not he that made me in the womb make him and
did not one fashion us in the womb?"
In GENESIS 25 we have the account of Rebecca being
pregnant with Esau and Jacob. In verses 22 and 23, we are
told: And the children struggled together within her: and she
said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of the
Lord. And the Lord said unto her,
"two nations
are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated
from thy bowels..."
Paul in GALATIANS 1:15 said that God separated him from
his mother’s womb.
In LUKE 1:15 We are told that John the Baptist would be
filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mothers womb. In
LUKE 1:31, the angel told Mary that she would conceive a son
whom she shall name JESUS. LUKE 1:39, tells us Mary made
haste to her cousin Elizabeth’s house to share the good news
with her. Elizabeth was in her sixth month of pregnancy with
John the Baptist, and Mary could not have been more than a few
weeks pregnant with Jesus, but when Mary called out to Elizabeth
when she entered her house, John the Baptist leaped with joy in
Elizabeth’s womb because he already recognized the embryo Jesus.
In PSALM 139:13, David speaks of God forming him in
secret and knowing his body as it was being fashioned in secret.
David said, "For thou has possessed my reigns: thou has
covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am
fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and
that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from
thee when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the
lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet
being imperfect; and in thy book all my members were written,
which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none
of them." JOB 10:8-12, Job speaks of God making him
in the womb, knowing him personally, and granting him life and
favor.
2
IT’S OBVIOUS THAT LIFE BEGINS IN THE WOMB. BUT, WHAT ABOUT THE
SOUL OR SPIRIT IN THE WOMB?
GENESIS 2:7: And the Lord God formed man of the dust of
the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul. When God created Adam and breathed
life into him, this began the life cycle for all mankind. The
name ADAM means "mankind". We have to remember that the
unborn breathe amniotic fluid in the womb. But, with the absence
of air, when they cry, they can’t be heard. This information and
much more can be found in many medical resource materials and
books.
JAMES 2:26 : For as the body without the spirit is dead,
so faith without works is dead also. Once you have substance,
you have a spirit. We know that all of us are body, soul and
spirit.
BUT, WE MUST NEXT ASK, IS KILLING THE UNBORN
THE SAME AS KILLING THE BORN - IS ABORTION MURDER?
Murder is defined in several dictionaries as:
"The intentional killing of one human being by
another, and, to kill or slaughter."
In the Old Testament Hebrew and the New Testament
Greek, murder was described: To take an innocent life,
to dash to pieces, to slay or slaughter.
EXODUS 20:13, in the ten commandments of God, we
usually quote, "Thou shalt not kill, but in the
original Hebrew and Greek God said, "Thou shall do
no murder". That is why in Exodus 20:13, God
tells us not to murder but then the very next chapter
EXODUS 21:12 & 14, God tells us to use capital
punishment when the laws were given. Also, going back to
GENESIS 9:6, God commanded Noah after the flood,
Whoso sheddeth a man’s blood, by man shall his blood be
shed: for in the image of God made He man. This is
capital punishment for taking an innocent human life.
There is a vast difference biblically between shedding
innocent blood and guilty murderers or manslayers being
put to death. Looking at thou shall do no murder...There
were nine Hebrew words that meant kill, but only one,
that meant murder - Ratsach - and that is the word used
in the ten commandments. In the New Testament there were
five Greek words that meant kill and only one Greek word
that meant murder - phoneus (phonevo). This is always
the word that Jesus or His disciples used when referring
to the Ten Commandments.(4).
GOD COMMANDS US CONTINUALLY NOT TO SHED
INNOCENT BLOOD.
At thirty days - one month after conception, the unborn child
already has blood circulating in his or her veins. LEVITICUS
17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood. In
PROVERBS 6:17 among the things that God hates ...are hands
that shed innocent blood. EXODUS 23:7: The innocent and
righteous slay thou not; for I will not justify the wicked.
DEUTERONOMY 27:25 Cursed be he that taketh reward (gets
paid), to slay an innocent person. JEREMIAH 7:6 and 22:3:
God warned Jeremiah not to shed innocent blood in that place.
PSALM 10:8 God said the wicked murders the innocent in the
secret places. ISAIAH 59:7 They make haste to shed
innocent blood.
3
JONAH 1:14 When Jonah told the men in the ship to throw
him overboard, the men feared God and it says that they begged
God not to lay upon them innocent blood - they knew God was an
avenger of innocent blood.
GENESIS 4:9-10 In the account of Cain and Abel, when Cain
killed his brother and God inquired of Cain:
"Where is
Abel, thy brother? What hast thou done? The voice of thy
brother’s blood(s) crieth unto me from the ground."
He told Cain for this he was cursed from the earth, which had
opened its mouth to receive his brother’s blood from his hand.
The brother’s blood(s) means not only was Abel’s blood crying
out to God, but also every generation that would be denied life
through Abel. We have not only murdered more than forty million
(40,000,000), unborn children, but the blood of all their
would-be descendants is crying out to God.
In PSALM 106:37-42 The Israelites were sacrificing their
sons and their daughters unto devils, and the bible says
shedding innocent blood, whom they sacrificed to the idols of
Canaan - and the land was polluted with blood. God said his
wrath was kindled against his people so that he abhorred his own
inheritance. As punishment, God gave them into the hand of the
heathen, and they that hated them ruled over them.
What is this innocent blood doing to our land? MICAH 3:1-4
... Is it not for you to know justice? Who hate good and love
evil: Who strip the skin from My people, And the flesh from
their bones: Who also eat the flesh of My people, Flay their
skin from them, Break their bones, And chop them in pieces like
meat for the pot, like flesh in the caldron. Then they will cry
to the Lord, but He will not hear them: He will even hide His
face from them at that time, Because they have been evil in
their deeds.
Most abortion clinics chop up the baby’s bodies and put them
down heavy-duty garbage disposals or down toilets.
(5) This re enters our water supply in a few hours in our
cities. We are drinking the innocent blood after it has been
reprocessed. JOEL 3:19 God says: Egypt shall be
desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the
violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed
innocent blood in their land. NUMBERS 35:3 God tells the
people: Ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood
it defileth the land; and the land cannot be cleansed of the
blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed
it. Defile not therefore the land, which ye shall inhabit, where
I dwell: for I the Lord dwell among the children of Israel.
God says in EXODUS 21:22 If men fight and hurt a woman
with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm
follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the husband
imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. But,
if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, eye for
eye, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for
wound, stripe for stripe.
I believe this shows that even if the injury or death is
unintentional, God said it was worthy of punishment up to and
including death--for killing the mother or the baby. How much
more serious would God see this crime if the killing were
intentional? The acts of those performing, as well as those
having the abortions, have spilled innocent blood, leaving our
land polluted according to the word of God.
4
HOW DOES GOD SEE THE HANDICAPPED? ARE THEIR LIVES OF LESS VALUE
OR ARE THEY ACCIDENTS AND SHOULD BE KILLED?
EXODUS 4:10-11 Moses complained to God when God called
him to go speak to Pharaoh, Moses said unto the Lord that he was
not eloquent and that he was slow of speech and had a slow
tongue. God answered him by saying, Who hath made man’s mouth?
Or who maketh the dumb or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind?
Have not I the Lord?
JOHN 9: 2-3 When Jesus walked by a blind man, his
disciples asked him, who sinned, him or his parents that he was
born blind? Jesus answered: Neither hath this man sinned, nor
his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest
in him.
LUKE 14: 13-14 Jesus said,
"But when thou
maketh a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind;
and thou shall be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for
thou shall be recompensed at the resurrection of the just."
I SAMUEL 16:7 We are told that the Lord doesn’t see us as
man does, that man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord
looks on the heart.
ISAIAH 45:9-12 The Lord said Woe to him who strives with
his maker. We are told that God forms the perfect and the
imperfect in our world.
PSALM 82:3-4 tells us: Defend the poor and fatherless, do
justice to the afflicted and needy, deliver the poor and needy,
rid them out of the hands of the wicked.
I THESSALONIANS 5:14 Paul exhorted us to comfort the
feeble minded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
Paul said in ACTS 20:35 I have showed you all things, how
that so laboring, ye ought to support the weak, and to remember
the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, it is more blessed to
give than to receive.
WHAT ABOUT A CHILD CONCEIVED FROM RAPE OR
INCEST?
The "hard cases" for abortion: rape, incest, the child may be
handicapped, or the mother’s life is in danger, make up only 1
to 3% of all abortions performed in our country. (6). I believe
DEUTERONOMY 24:16 could speak to the rare cases of
pregnancy resulting from rape or incest. The fathers shall not
be put to death for their children, neither shall the children
be put to death for the fathers; every man shall be put to death
for his own sin. What we are saying if we support these reasons
for abortion is that the innocent child should be cruelly killed
for the sin of his or her father. Is this just? Also, God
teaches us that with Him, any event in our lives can be turned
around to His glory. Ethel Waters, who sang for years with the
Billy Graham Crusades, was the child of a rape pregnancy.
Ethel’s mother was only twelve years old when she was raped.
Before her mother died, she told Ethel, You’ve been a blessing
to me. (7) We are not to solve our social problems by killing
the innocent.
5
WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO HAVE HAD ABORTIONS?
CAN THEIR SIN BE FORGIVEN?
LUKE 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He
hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent
me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the
captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at
liberty them that are bruised. ROMANS 3:10 There is none
righteous, no, not one. ROMANS 3:23 For all have sinned,
and come short of the glory of God. First we have to realize
when we sin; it is first and foremost God that we sin against.
PSALM 51:4 David said, Against thee, thee only, have I
sinned, and done this evil in thy sight. GENESIS 39:9
Joseph, when he was being asked to commit adultery with
Potiphar's wife said...How then can I do this great wickedness
and sin against God? In MARK 1:4 we are told, John did
baptize in the wilderness, and preached the baptism of
repentance for the remission of sins. In JOB 42:6 Job
said wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes,
other ures relating to repentance are: ACTS 2:38,5:31,
17:30, & 26:20.
PROVERBS 28:13 tells us: He that covers his sins shall
not prosper; but whoso confesses and forsakes them shall have
mercy. I JOHN 1:9 Paul said, If we confess our sins, he
is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness.
I TIMOTHY 1:13 Paul said, I obtained mercy, because I did
it ignorantly in unbelief. ISAIAH 1:18 we are told, Come
now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord. Though your
sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they
be red like crimson they shall be as wool. ROMANS 8:1
there is therefore now, no condemnation to them which are in
Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the
Spirit. ROMANS 2:4 We are told that the goodness of God
leads us to repentance. In II PETER 3:9, we are told that
God is longsuffering toward us not willing that any should
perish, but that all should come to repentance. In PSALM
51:16-17 When Nathan the prophet confronted David with his
sin, David said that God does not desire sacrifice; or He would
He give it: that He does not delight in burnt offerings. The
sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite
heart. PSALM 56:8 God says that He has our tears in a
bottle and he has them written in a book. In PSALM 103 We
are told that God forgives all our sins, he is merciful and
gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not
always chide; neither will he keep his anger forever. He has not
dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our
iniquities (sins). For as the heaven is high above the earth, so
great is his mercy toward them that fear him. So far hath He
removed our transgressions from us. Like a father pities his
children, so the Lord pities them that fear Him. For He knows
our frame, He remembers that we are dust. But the mercy of the
Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him.
ISAIAH 43:25 says, I even I am He that blotteth out thy
transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy
sins. It has been said that the church is the only place where
they shoot their wounded. God tells us to hate the sin, but to
love the sinner. We have to remember who our enemy is. Jesus
tells us in JOHN 10:10 The thief cometh not but to steal,
and to kill, and to destroy: I’m come that the might have life,
and that they might have it more abundantly.
6
WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO HAVE HELPED SOMEONE ELSE TO HAVE AN
ABORTION?
I have had innocent blood on my hands. I realized my own
responsibility for "helping" a friend, Meg, get an abortion in
1965. I thought I was helping her when she came to me scared and
panic-stricken. Another friend of mine had a sister who had had
two abortions by a doctor in St. Louis. Planned Parenthood
admits that before abortion was legal, 90% of illegal abortions
were performed by doctors anyway. (8). Meg later married and
found she was sterile. I have to live with the pain of knowing I
helped her kill the only child she would ever have. God revealed
to me my sin in helping her to shed innocent blood. He revealed
to me that not only did I sin against Meg and her unborn child,
but, that I had sinned first and foremost against Him. When I
repented to God for my part in this sin, and I knew He had
forgiven me, it still took many years for me to be able to
forgive myself.
WILL THESE BABIES WHO DIED BE IN HEAVEN?
In the account of David and Bath Sheba in II SAMUEL 12,
David was a man after God’s own heart, but he committed adultery
with Bath Sheba and to hide his sin, he had her husband, Uriah
killed. God said as punishment the baby would die. But, after
the baby died, David said: Can I bring him back again? I shall
go to him but he shall not return to me.
WHAT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY IN A NATION THAT
HAS TURNED AWAY FROM GOD?
What is holding God’s judgment from our country? How long can
this slaughter continue? In the account of Sodom and Gomorrah,
God was willing to spare the city if only ten righteous could be
found. God tells us that His mercies are new every morning.
LAMENTATIONS 3:22-23. Let me first say that the bible speaks
of the righteous and the unrighteous, the godly and the ungodly,
the just and the unjust. Our nation is made up of all of these
peoples.PSALM 9:17 warns us that the wicked shall be
turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. JUDGES
21:25 tells us in those days there was no king in Israel:
every man did that which was right in his own eyes. PROVERBS
24:11-12 tells us, rescue those that are unjustly sentenced
to death, don’t stand back and let them die. Don’t try to
disclaim responsibility by saying you didn’t know about it, for
God, who knows all hearts, knows yours, and He knows that you
knew, and He will reward every one according to his deeds.
PROVERBS 21:13 warns us that, whosoever stops his ears at
the cry of the poor, he shall also cry himself, but shall not be
heard. God says that if we don’t speak up to the injustice done
to others, when our turn comes, He won’t hear us. MATTHEW
18:10 Jesus said,
"Take heed
that ye despise not one of these little ones: for I say unto
you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my
father, which is in heaven."
PROVERBS 15:3 Tells us: The eyes of the Lord are in every
place beholding the evil and the good. PSALMS 94:20-23
Could easily describe the United States Supreme Court
which...devised evil by law and gathered themselves together
against the righteous and condemned innocent blood. Jesus said
in MATTHEW 25:40 Insomuch as ye have done it unto the
least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me. In
EZEKIEL 9 God was going to pass judgment on Jerusalem
because of the abominations that had been done in that city so
he ordered an angel to go through the city marking only the
foreheads of the people who had sighed and cried over the
abominations done there.
7
The others with the angel were told to go through the city and
kill everyone who did not have the mark. God told them to begin
at His sanctuary. The church? Have you sighed and cried over the
abominations that are now rampant in America? We have abortion,
homosexuality, pornography, and the list is long. We need to
pray and work for godly leaders to be placed in authority over
us. EZEKIEL 22 God told Ezekiel the time had come to
judge the city because of the innocent blood that was in it, for
God could find no righteous man to stand in the gap for the
nation. PROVERBS 29:2 When the righteous are in
authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule,
the people mourn. PROVERBS 14:34 Righteousness exalts a
nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.
Thomas Jefferson said, "The care of human life and happiness
and not its destruction, is the first and only legitimate object
of good government." He also said, "I tremble for the
future of my country when I’m reminded that God is just. And
that His justice will not sleep forever." Abraham Lincoln
said, "To sin by silence when they should protest makes
cowards of men." Dante’s Divine Comedy: "The hottest
parts of Hell are reserved for those people, who in times of
moral crisis remain neutral." Edmund Burke said, "The
only thing necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do
nothing". EPHESIANS 6 tells us we are not fighting
against flesh and blood, but principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high places.
II CHRONICLES 7:14 God tells His people: If my people,
which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray,
and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I
hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal
their land.
We need a praying, vibrant, God-fearing church in America. Our
country needs to repent as a people and turn back to what made
our country great - a belief in the bible as God’s infallible
word to us. God says He will heal our country, if His people
turn back to Him in true repentance. We as a nation deserve
God’s judgment, but we need His mercy because of our grievous
sins as a people. I believe the silence is deafening in our
pulpits and in our local churches - all of which makes up the
body of Christ. Who will God hold responsible.
